About this tool
M4A (AAC audio) is the default for iPhone Voice Memos and many Apple apps, but some players, websites and car stereos only accept MP3. Upload an M4A file, choose a bitrate, and our server converts it with FFmpeg. Files are deleted right after the download is prepared.

Frequently asked questions
Can I convert protected iTunes purchases?
No. Files with DRM copy protection cannot be converted. Unprotected M4A files, including voice memos, work.
Will quality drop?
Converting one lossy format to another adds a small loss. At 192 kbps or higher it is rarely noticeable.
Is M4A to MP3 private?
Your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection and processed in a private temporary folder on our server. The uploaded file and the result are deleted from the server as soon as processing finishes — whether it succeeds or fails — and the result is sent straight to your browser. If an upload is interrupted part-way, its temporary data is removed automatically within about 30 minutes. We do not keep copies.
