Frequently asked questions
Will converting JPG to PNG improve quality?
No. Conversion preserves the image exactly as it is now, but it cannot restore detail already lost to JPG compression. It does prevent further loss when you edit and save again.
Why is my PNG larger than the JPG?
PNG stores pixels without lossy compression, so photographs usually become larger. For smaller photos use the Image Compressor instead.
Does the PNG have a transparent background?
JPG has no transparency, so the PNG will be fully opaque. Use the Background Remover if you need a transparent cut-out.
Is JPG to PNG private?
