About this tool
Fix sideways or upside-down photos, or straighten a slightly tilted scan. Choose a quarter turn or set a custom angle between -180° and 180°. For custom angles the canvas grows to fit the rotated image; new corners are transparent for PNG and WEBP and filled with your chosen colour for JPG. Photos are read with their camera orientation applied, so what you see is what gets rotated.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my photo already look rotated?
Phones store an orientation flag instead of rotating pixels. This tool applies that flag first, then your rotation, so the saved file looks the same everywhere.
Does rotating by 90° lose quality?
PNG is lossless. JPG and WEBP are re-encoded at high quality (92%), which is visually very close to the original.
Is Image Rotator private?
Yes. This tool processes files entirely in your browser, so your files are not uploaded to our servers.
