About this tool
Audio files can carry hidden information: titles, artist and album names, comments, the software used, chapters and embedded cover art. This tool removes that metadata and keeps only the audio stream. The audio is copied without re-encoding, so quality is exactly the same and the format stays the same (MP3 stays MP3).
Frequently asked questions
Does it change the sound?
No. The audio data is copied as-is; only the tags and artwork around it are removed.
Is location or device information removed too?
Any such information stored in the file's tags is removed, because all tags are dropped. Information embedded in the audio itself (for example spoken words) of course stays.
Is Audio Metadata Remover private?
Your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection and processed in a private temporary folder on our server. The uploaded file and the result are deleted from the server as soon as processing finishes — whether it succeeds or fails — and the result is sent straight to your browser. If an upload is interrupted part-way, its temporary data is removed automatically within about 30 minutes. We do not keep copies.
