About this tool
Trim silence from the start of a recording, cut a ringtone from a song or keep only the useful part of an interview. Enter the start and end times in seconds (decimals allowed), optionally add a short fade in and out, and choose MP3 or WAV. Cutting is sample-accurate and done on our server with FFmpeg.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert minutes to seconds?
Multiply the minutes by 60 and add the seconds: 2:30 is 150 seconds.
What if the end time is past the end of the file?
The clip simply runs to the end of the file.
Is Audio Cutter private?
Your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection and processed in a private temporary folder on our server. The uploaded file and the result are deleted from the server as soon as processing finishes — whether it succeeds or fails — and the result is sent straight to your browser. If an upload is interrupted part-way, its temporary data is removed automatically within about 30 minutes. We do not keep copies.
