About this tool

Some printers, sign makers and older layout programs still ask for EPS. This tool creates a standard EPS (PostScript Level 2) file that embeds your original JPEG data unchanged, so there is no extra quality loss. The picture remains a raster image — it is not traced into vector shapes — and is sized at 1 pixel per point, which you can scale freely in your design app.

Good to know

  • Raster image inside the EPS — not vector artwork.
  • No embedded preview thumbnail (TIFF/WMF) is added.

Frequently asked questions

Does this make my image a vector?

No. EPS can hold either vectors or pictures; this tool stores your photo as a picture inside the EPS. Tracing a photo into vectors is a different process.

Why can't I preview the EPS?

Many viewers do not render EPS. Open it in Illustrator, Photoshop, Inkscape, Affinity, CorelDRAW or a PostScript viewer.

Is CMYK supported?

Yes. Grayscale, RGB and CMYK JPEGs are embedded in their own colour space.

Is JPEG to EPS private?

Yes. This tool processes files entirely in your browser, so your files are not uploaded to our servers.
