About this tool
When you need to edit or reuse the wording of a PDF, getting the text into Word is the fastest route. This converter extracts text from each page, rebuilds lines and paragraphs, and inserts a page break between pages. If the PDF is a scan with no selectable text, the pages are read with OCR right in your browser — nothing is uploaded. It is a text extraction tool: complex layouts, tables and images are not recreated.
Good to know
- Text only — layout, tables and images are not preserved.
- OCR on scanned PDFs is limited to 30 pages and may need proofreading.
- Handwriting is not reliably recognised.
Frequently asked questions
Will the Word file look exactly like my PDF?
No. This version extracts text and paragraphs only. Fonts, columns, tables and images are not reproduced. It is ideal for reusing wording, not for pixel-perfect layout.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes. If no selectable text is found, each page (up to 30) is read with OCR (Tesseract) on your device. The first scan downloads the OCR engine and language data once (a few MB). Accuracy is good on clean, straight scans and weaker on skewed, low-resolution or handwritten pages, so proofread the result.
Which languages does OCR support?
English, Hindi (Devanagari) and Urdu (Nastaliq/Arabic script). Urdu text is written right-to-left in the Word file. Urdu OCR is less accurate than English on decorative Nastaliq fonts, so proofread carefully.
Is the file uploaded?
No. Text extraction and OCR both run in your browser.
Is PDF to Word private?
Yes. This tool processes files entirely in your browser, so your files are not uploaded to our servers.
