About this tool
Phone videos are recorded at high bitrates that make them slow to share. This compressor re-encodes your video to H.264 MP4 at a quality level you pick and can reduce the resolution, which gives the largest savings. The output plays on nearly every device and platform.

Roughly proportional to the video length and resolution. A one-minute 1080p clip usually takes well under a minute; longer videos take longer.

Is audio kept?
Yes, audio is re-encoded to AAC at 128 kbps.
Is Video Compressor private?
Your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection and processed in a private temporary folder on our server. The uploaded file and the result are deleted from the server as soon as processing finishes — whether it succeeds or fails — and the result is sent straight to your browser. If an upload is interrupted part-way, its temporary data is removed automatically within about 30 minutes. We do not keep copies.
