About this tool
Convert a video for the device, app or website that needs it. MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio plays almost everywhere; MOV suits Apple and editing workflows; WEBM with VP9 and Opus is an open format for the web. Videos are re-encoded with FFmpeg on our server and deleted after the download is prepared.

- Long or high-resolution videos take longer and must fit within the video upload limit.

Which format should I choose?
MP4 for sharing and uploading almost anywhere, MOV for Final Cut or iMovie, WEBM for web pages that prefer open formats.
Why does WEBM take longer?
VP9 encoding is more demanding than H.264. We use a fast VP9 setting, but long videos still take more time.
Is Video Converter private?
Your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection and processed in a private temporary folder on our server. The uploaded file and the result are deleted from the server as soon as processing finishes — whether it succeeds or fails — and the result is sent straight to your browser. If an upload is interrupted part-way, its temporary data is removed automatically within about 30 minutes. We do not keep copies.
