About this tool
Turn a landscape clip into a vertical Reel or Short, or a square post, without black bars. The cropper keeps the largest centred area of the chosen shape and removes the rest, then re-encodes to H.264 MP4 with the original audio. Keep your subject near the centre of the frame for the best result.

Frequently asked questions
Can I choose which part of the frame to keep?
In this version the crop is centred. If your subject is off-centre, the Video Resizer can fit the whole frame with bars instead.
Does cropping lower the resolution?
The output keeps the original pixel density, so the cropped area is smaller than the full frame. For example, a 1920×1080 video cropped to 9:16 becomes 606×1080.
Is Video Cropper private?
Your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection and processed in a private temporary folder on our server. The uploaded file and the result are deleted from the server as soon as processing finishes — whether it succeeds or fails — and the result is sent straight to your browser. If an upload is interrupted part-way, its temporary data is removed automatically within about 30 minutes. We do not keep copies.
