About this tool
CSV is the universal format for importing data into databases, CRMs, accounting tools and scripts. This converter reads the values from your workbook in the browser and writes one CSV per sheet (or just the first sheet). Formulas are exported as their calculated values, dates as YYYY-MM-DD, and the file includes a UTF-8 marker so Excel shows non-English text correctly.
Good to know
- Only .xlsx files (not .xls).
- Formatting, merged cells and charts are not part of CSV.
Frequently asked questions
Which delimiter should I choose?
Comma is standard. Choose semicolon if your Excel uses commas as the decimal separator, or tab for TSV-style files.
Are formulas kept?
CSV stores values only, so each formula is exported as its last calculated result.
Is XLSX to CSV private?
Yes. This tool processes files entirely in your browser, so your files are not uploaded to our servers.
