About this tool
Copying a table out of a PDF usually scrambles it. This tool reads the position of every piece of text on each page, groups text into rows by line and into columns by alignment, and writes the result to an .xlsx workbook — one sheet per page or everything in one sheet. Numbers such as 1,234.50 are stored as numbers. It works best on clearly laid-out, text-based tables; always review the result.
Good to know
- Text-based PDFs only (no OCR).
- Table structure is inferred from text positions and may need cleanup.
- Up to 300 pages.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
No. Scans are images without selectable text, so they need OCR, which this tool does not include.
Will complex tables convert perfectly?
Not always. Merged cells, multi-line cells, rotated text and right-aligned columns can shift. The tool rebuilds structure from text positions, so plan a quick review.
Is PDF to Excel private?
Yes. This tool processes files entirely in your browser, so your files are not uploaded to our servers.
