About this tool
PDFs have fixed pages that are hard to read on small screens. EPUB text reflows to fit any screen and font size. This tool extracts the PDF's text and packages it as a standard EPUB 3 book (with an EPUB 2 table of contents for older readers), split into chapters by page range. Set the title and author, choose how many PDF pages go into each chapter, and download the .epub. Works with Apple Books, Google Play Books, Kobo, Calibre and Kindle (via Send to Kindle).
Good to know
- Text only — images, tables and styling are not included.
- Chapters follow page ranges, not the PDF's bookmarks.
- Scanned PDFs use on-device OCR (English or Hindi, first 30 pages).
Frequently asked questions
Are images and formatting kept?
No. This version creates a text-only e-book: paragraphs are kept, but images, tables, fonts and headings styles are not. Picture-heavy PDFs such as comics or brochures are better kept as PDF.
How are chapters made?
By PDF page ranges (for example 10 pages per chapter). The PDF's own bookmarks are not used yet.
Can I read it on Kindle?
Yes. Send to Kindle accepts EPUB files and converts them for your device.
Is PDF to EPUB private?
Yes. This tool processes files entirely in your browser, so your files are not uploaded to our servers.
